Corporate State Concept (Italy)

Definition

The Corporate State Concept was a system implemented by Benito Mussolini in Italy where the economy was collectively managed by employers, workers and state officials by formal mechanisms at the national level. Its aim was to resolve class conflict through collaboration between the classes.

Analogy

Imagine if your school's student council wasn't just made up of students but also included teachers and administrators. And instead of each group working for their own interests, they all worked together to make decisions that were supposed to benefit everyone. That's what Mussolini tried to do with Italy's economy using the Corporate State Concept.
