Definition

The process of exchanging information or ideas between two or more parties. In the context of world history, this can refer to various methods and systems used by societies to convey messages, from ancient hieroglyphics to modern digital technology.

Analogy

Think of communication as a game of telephone. One person starts with a message and passes it along to the next person, who then passes it on again. Just like in the game, the method and accuracy of communication can greatly affect how well the original message is preserved.
