Mutually Exclusive Events

Definition

Mutually exclusive events are events that cannot occur at the same time. If one event happens, the other event cannot happen.

Analogy

Think of mutually exclusive events like choosing between two different ice cream flavors. You can only choose one flavor at a time, so if you choose chocolate, you cannot also have vanilla.
