Chi-Square Test

Definition

A statistical test used to determine if there is a significant association between two categorical variables. It compares the observed frequencies with the expected frequencies under the assumption of independence.

Analogy

Imagine you have a bag of colored marbles and you want to know if there is any relationship between the color of the marble and its size. The chi-square test would help you determine if there is a significant association between these two variables.

Contingency Table: A table that displays the observed frequencies for each combination of categories in a chi-square test.
