Bar Graphs
Definition
Bar graphs are a type of graphical representation that use rectangular bars to represent different categories or groups. They are commonly used to compare categorical data by showing the frequency or proportion of each category.
Analogy
Imagine you have a bar chart at a candy store that shows the number of candies sold for different types, such as chocolate bars, gummy bears, and lollipops. The height of each bar represents the quantity sold for each candy type, allowing you to easily compare and see which one is more popular. Similarly, bar graphs allow us to visually compare different categories or groups by using bars of varying heights.
