Polygamy is a marital practice where an individual has multiple spouses at the same time. It can take different forms such as polygyny (one man having multiple wives) or polyandry (one woman having multiple husbands).
Imagine you have one pizza but you want to share it with more than one friend. In polygamy, it's like cutting your pizza into several slices so that each friend gets a piece.
Monogamy: This is the practice of being married to only one person at a time.
Bigamy: The act of entering into marriage with two people simultaneously without divorcing from previous spouses.
Serial monogamy: This refers to individuals who have multiple marriages over their lifetime but only one spouse at any given time.
