Definition

Trial and error is a problem-solving strategy that involves attempting different solutions until the correct one is found.

Analogy

Think of trial and error like trying to find the right key for a lock. You have a bunch of keys on your keychain, but you're not sure which one opens the door. So, you try each key, one by one, until you find the one that works.
