Theory of Mind

Definition

Theory of Mind refers to the ability to understand that others have beliefs, desires, intentions, and perspectives that are different from one's own.

Analogy

Think of it like reading a book. When you read a story, you understand that each character has their own thoughts and feelings separate from yours or other characters. That's what theory of mind is like - understanding everyone has their own 'story' going on in their head.
