In psychology, standardized refers to uniform procedures for administering and scoring a test. This ensures that results can be accurately compared across individuals or groups.
Standardization is like playing a game where everyone follows the same rules. If some people were allowed different rules, it wouldn't be fair or accurate to compare scores at the end.
Norms: The average score for a particular group on a particular test which serves as a standard against which all individual scores on that test can be measured.
Validity: The extent to which a test measures what it claims to measure.
Test-Retest Method: A method for determining the reliability of a test by comparing a test taker's scores on the same test taken at two different times.
