Self-transcendence refers to the psychological concept of surpassing or going beyond one's personal self and experiencing a greater sense of purpose, connection, or unity with others, nature, or some form of higher power.
Think of self-transcendence like climbing a mountain. At the base (yourself), you're focused on your own needs and desires. As you climb higher (transcending yourself), you start to see the bigger picture - how you fit into the world around you and how interconnected everything is.
Self-actualization: This is the realization or fulfillment of one's talents and potentialities, often considered as a drive or need present in everyone.
Ego transcendence: This is when an individual can set aside their personal interests for the sake of others' wellbeing or for a larger cause.
Spiritual well-being: A sense that life is meaningful, that life has purpose, and that some sort of enduring truth exists beyond what we see in front of us.
