A reflex is an involuntary and nearly instantaneous movement in response to a stimulus.
A reflex action can be compared to hitting the brakes in a car. When you see an obstacle, your brain doesn't need to think about what to do, your foot automatically moves to the brake pedal.
Reflex Arc: This is a neural pathway that controls reflex actions.
Stimulus: This refers to any event or situation that evokes a response.
Response: This is a reaction by an organism or system as a result of some stimulus.
