Perceived Motion

Definition

Perceived motion refers to the psychological phenomenon where stationary objects appear moving due to certain visual effects or stimuli.

Analogy

Picture yourself sitting on a train station bench, watching another train on the next track. Even though you're not moving, when that train starts to move, it can feel like you're the one who's actually moving. This is an example of perceived motion.
