Ostracism

Definition

Ostracism is the act of excluding or ignoring an individual or group by a larger social group. It's a form of social punishment where the ostracized individuals are socially isolated.

Analogy

Imagine you're at a party and everyone is having fun, dancing, chatting, and laughing. But no one talks to you, invites you to dance, or even acknowledges your presence. You're there but not really part of it - that's what being ostracized feels like.
