One-word Stage
Definition
The one-word stage is the period in a child's life when they begin to use single words to convey meaning. This typically occurs around 10-18 months old.
Analogy
Imagine if you were playing charades and you could only use one action to get your point across. That’s what it’s like for babies during the one-word stage - they have so much to say but can only use single words!
