Definition

An imaging technique that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce high-quality images of the body's internal structures, particularly soft tissues.

Analogy

Think of an MRI like a detailed map of a city. Just as you can see individual buildings, streets, and parks on a map, an MRI allows doctors to see your body's internal structures in great detail.
