The motor cortex is part of the cerebral cortex involved in planning, control, and execution of voluntary movements.
Consider your motor cortex like a puppeteer controlling marionettes. It sends out signals (like pulling on strings) to different parts of your body telling them when to move and how much force to use.
Precentral Gyrus: This is an area on frontal lobe where primary motor cortex is located responsible for executing voluntary movements.
Basal Ganglia: A group of structures linked to the thalamus in base of brain involved in coordination of movement.
Cerebellum: Part at backside of brain responsible for fine-tuning motor activities based on sensory information.
