Motivational Concepts

Definition

These are psychological constructs that explain why we behave the way we do. They include needs, drives, and incentives which push or pull us towards certain actions.

Analogy

Think of motivational concepts like the gas pedal in a car. Just as you press the gas pedal to move your car forward, motivational concepts drive our behaviors and actions.
