Midbrain
Definition
The midbrain is part of your central nervous system located between forebrain and hindbrain; it's involved in functions such as vision, hearing, motor control, sleep/wake cycles, arousal (alertness), and temperature regulation.
Analogy
The midbrain is like the manager of a shopping mall. It oversees various departments (vision, hearing etc.), ensures smooth operation (motor control), and adjusts the environment based on customer needs (temperature regulation).
