Long-term memory is the final stage of the dual memory model, where information is stored indefinitely.
Think of long-term memory like a vast library. It's where all your knowledge and experiences are stored, from what you learned in kindergarten to your grandmother's apple pie recipe. Just like a librarian retrieves books from shelves, your brain can retrieve these memories when needed.
Episodic Memory: This is a type of long-term memory that involves recollection of specific events, situations and experiences.
Semantic Memory: Another type of long-term memory, semantic memory refers to general world knowledge that we have accumulated throughout our lives.
Procedural Memory: This is a part of the long-term memory responsible for knowing how to do things, i.e., motor skills.
