Definition

This refers to having an understanding of oneself; one’s thoughts, feelings, motivations. It involves effective self-reflection abilities.

Analogy

Imagine you're both an actor playing yourself on stage AND also your own audience watching from afar. You're able not only act out your emotions but also understand and analyze them from a distance.
