Instinctive Drift

Definition

It refers to the tendency of an animal to revert to instinctive behaviors that interfere with a conditioned response.

Analogy

Imagine you've trained your dog to fetch the newspaper every morning. But one day, instead of bringing it back, he starts tearing it apart - a natural behavior for dogs. This is like instinctive drift, where despite training, the dog's natural instincts take over.
