Hypothesis
Definition
A hypothesis is an educated guess or proposition made as a basis for reasoning or research without any assumption of its truth. It's testable and falsifiable statement about two or more variables related in some way.
Analogy
Consider your hypothesis as your prediction before watching a movie based on its trailer. You haven't seen it yet so you can't be sure if you're right; you'll have to watch it (conduct an experiment) to find out!
