Humanistic Theories

Definition

These are psychological perspectives that emphasize the study of the whole person and believe individuals have free will. They focus on human potential and the importance of growth and self-actualization.

Analogy

Think of humanistic theories like a gardener nurturing a plant. Just as a gardener provides water, sunlight, and nutrients to help a plant grow to its full potential, humanistic theories suggest that with the right environment and support, humans can also reach their full potential.
