Homeostasis

Definition

Homeostasis is the body's ability to maintain a stable internal environment despite changes in external conditions.

Analogy

Imagine your body as a house with a thermostat. When it gets too hot outside, your body (the house) turns on the air conditioning (sweats) to cool down. If it gets too cold, your body turns up the heat (shivers) to warm up. This constant adjustment keeps everything inside comfortable and functioning properly - that's homeostasis!
