Heuristic

Definition

A heuristic is a mental shortcut or rule of thumb that helps us make decisions and solve problems quickly, often relying on limited information. It's like a quick and easy strategy our brain uses to simplify complex tasks.

Analogy

Think of a heuristic as using a GPS navigation system to find the fastest route to your destination. Instead of analyzing every possible road, the GPS suggests the most efficient path based on pre-programmed rules and data.
