Heart Rate

Definition

The number of times your heart beats per minute.

Analogy

Consider your heart as a drummer in a band. The speed at which the drummer beats the drum is like your heart rate. When you're relaxed, the beat is slow and steady. But when you're excited or scared, the drummer starts to play faster!
