Definition

Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.

Analogy

Imagine confirmation bias as being at an all-you-can-eat buffet but only choosing foods that you already know and like. You ignore other options because they don't align with your existing preferences.
