Computer Tomography (CT) scans

Definition

CT scans are imaging procedures that use special x-ray equipment to create detailed pictures, or scans, of areas inside the body.

Analogy

Think of a CT scan as using a super-powered flashlight to look into a dark room. The flashlight can see through objects and give you an image of what's inside without having to open anything up.
