Definition

Achievement motivation refers to a person's drive and desire to achieve success and excel in their endeavors. It is the inner motivation that pushes individuals to set challenging goals, persist in their efforts, and strive for personal accomplishment.

Analogy

Achievement motivation can be compared to a competitive athlete who constantly seeks personal records and strives for excellence. Just like how athletes train hard, set high goals, and push themselves beyond their limits to achieve success, individuals with high achievement motivation are driven by an inner determination to excel.
