Acceptance

Definition

Acceptance in psychology refers to the recognition and acceptance of one's own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as well as those of others without judgment or criticism.

Analogy

Think of acceptance like a big, comfy couch. No matter how you're feeling or what you've done during the day, the couch is always there for you to sit on. It doesn't judge whether you're dirty or clean, happy or sad; it just accepts you as you are.
