Abstract Thinking

Definition

Abstract thinking is the ability to understand concepts that are real, such as freedom or vulnerability, but which are not directly tied to concrete physical objects and experiences.

Analogy

Think of abstract thinking like using a map. A map isn't the actual place it represents, but it helps you understand the layout of the place. Similarly, abstract thinking allows us to understand concepts that aren't physically present or tangible.
