Definition
Voltage refers to the electric potential difference between two points in an electric circuit. It represents the amount of work done per unit charge to move a charge from one point to another.
Analogy
Think of voltage as a hill. The higher the hill, the more potential energy an object has at the top. Similarly, the higher the voltage, the more potential energy is available for charges to flow through a circuit.
