A method used to determine the direction of induced currents or magnetic fields resulting from changing magnetic flux. It states that if you curl your right hand around a wire or loop in the direction of current flow, your thumb points in the direction of the magnetic field.
Imagine you are holding a screwdriver with your right hand and trying to tighten a screw. As you rotate your hand clockwise, your thumb naturally points in the direction that the screw is being tightened. Similarly, when using the right-hand curl rule, as you curl your fingers around a wire or loop, your thumb indicates the direction of the resulting magnetic field.
Magnetic Flux: The measure of magnetic field lines passing through a given area.
Faraday's Law: States that an electromotive force (EMF) is induced in a circuit whenever there is a change in magnetic flux through it.
Lenz's Law: Describes the direction of an induced current generated by changing magnetic fields. It states that the induced current will always oppose its cause.
