Conductors

Definition

Materials that allow the flow of electric charges easily due to the presence of free electrons.

Analogy

Think of conductors like a crowded highway with multiple lanes. The cars (electric charges) can move freely and quickly through the lanes (material), allowing for efficient traffic flow.

Related terms

Insulators: Materials that do not allow the flow of electric charges easily.

Electric Field: A region around a charged object where other charged objects experience a force.

Ohm's Law: States that the current flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage across it, and inversely proportional to its resistance.
