Imagine you have a basketball player running at full speed (velocity) towards the hoop. The force with which they collide with the hoop depends on their mass. The kg*m/s unit represents how much momentum they have before hitting the hoop.
Momentum: The quantity of motion possessed by an object, calculated as the product of its mass and velocity.
Impulse: The change in momentum experienced by an object when a force is applied to it for a certain amount of time.
Conservation of Momentum: The principle that states that in a closed system, the total momentum remains constant before and after any interaction or collision occurs.
