Average velocity

Definition

The average velocity is the displacement of an object divided by the time it takes to travel that distance. It represents the overall change in position over a given time interval.

Analogy

Imagine you are driving from your house to school. The average velocity would be like calculating how far you traveled divided by how long it took you to get there. It tells you how fast, on average, you were moving during your entire trip.
