The daughter nuclide refers to the nucleus that is formed after a radioactive decay process. It is the product of a parent nuclide undergoing radioactive decay.
Think of the daughter nuclide as a new car that is produced after an old car goes through a demolition derby. The old car (parent nuclide) gets smashed and transformed into a brand new car (daughter nuclide).
Parent Nuclide: The original, unstable nucleus before it undergoes radioactive decay.
Half-Life: The time it takes for half of the parent nuclides in a sample to decay into daughter nuclides.
Radioactive Decay: The spontaneous breakdown of an atomic nucleus, resulting in the emission of radiation and the formation of daughter nuclei.
