Definition

A stopwatch is a timing device used to measure the amount of time it takes for an event or action to occur. It has start, stop, and reset buttons.

Analogy

Imagine you are running in a race and the stopwatch is your coach. When the race starts, your coach presses the start button on the stopwatch. When you cross the finish line, they press the stop button to see how long it took you.
