An object or system that moves back and forth repeatedly around a central position.
Imagine a swing at the park. When you push it, it swings back and forth, going from one extreme to another. This motion is similar to how an object oscillates.
Amplitude: The maximum displacement of an oscillating object from its equilibrium position.
Frequency: The number of complete oscillations per unit of time.
Damping: The gradual decrease in amplitude over time due to external forces like friction or air resistance.
