Definition

Rhythm refers to the pattern of durations and accents in music. It is the organization of time in music, creating a sense of movement and groove.

Analogy

Think of rhythm as the heartbeat of a song. Just like our heartbeats keep us alive and give us a sense of pace, rhythm keeps a song alive and sets its pace.
