A first inversion triad is a chord in which the third of the chord is in the bass position.
Imagine a group of friends standing in line, with the tallest friend at the front. In a first inversion triad, it's like having the second tallest friend at the front instead.

Second Inversion Triad: A second inversion triad is a chord where the fifth of the chord is in the bass position.
