Chromatic refers to notes that are outside of the key signature and are altered by using accidentals. These notes add color and tension to the music.
Diatonic: Refers to notes that belong to the key signature and follow the established scale.
Enharmonic: Describes two different names for the same pitch, such as C# and Db.
Chromatic Scale: A scale consisting entirely of half steps, including all twelve pitches in an octave.
