The sex ratio is the number of males for each female in a population.
Imagine having a bag full of red and blue marbles where red represents females and blue represents males. The sex ratio would be equivalent to counting how many blue marbles there are for every red marble.
Gender Ratio: Similar to sex ratio but focuses on gender identity rather than biological sex. Like having additional colors in our marble bag representing different genders beyond male/female.
Birth Rate: The number of live births per thousand people each year. It’s like adding new marbles into our bag every year.
Mortality Rate: The number deaths in a given area or period, or from a particular cause. Like losing some marbles from our bag over time due to various reasons.
