Relic Boundaries
Definition
These are political boundaries that no longer exist as international borders but have left an enduring mark on the local cultural or environmental geography.
Analogy
Imagine relic boundaries as old scars. They may not hurt anymore (i.e., they're not active), but their mark remains visible and can tell a story about past events.
