Population & Migration

Definition

Population refers to the total number of individuals living in a specific area, while migration is the movement of people from one place to another with intentions of settling, permanently or temporarily, at a new location.

Analogy

Think about population and migration like fish in a pond. The total number of fish in the pond represents the population. If some fish decide to swim over to another pond (for better food sources or less competition), that's like migration.
