Gender Development Index (GDI)

Definition

The GDI measures gender inequalities in terms of lifespan, education, and incomes for countries worldwide.

Analogy

Imagine if you were running a race but one person had hurdles on their track while another didn't. The GDI is like measuring how far each runner gets despite these different conditions - it's about comparing progress considering existing inequalities.
