Definition

Freshwater is naturally occurring water found on Earth's surface which has low concentrations of dissolved salts making it suitable for consumption or irrigation.

Analogy

Freshwater is like the lifeblood of our planet. Just as blood carries nutrients to every part of our body, freshwater carries essential nutrients throughout ecosystems and provides for human needs.
