These are political boundaries which are established in order to mitigate existing cultural or economic differences between communities. They usually align with some pre-existing cultural divide like religion or language.
Consider consequent boundaries like choosing seats in a cafeteria based on what food everyone likes - vegetarians at one table, meat-lovers at another. The division happens because of an existing difference (dietary preference).
Natural Boundary: This is a type of physical boundary, formed by natural landscapes like rivers, mountains, etc.
Artificial Boundary: A boundary made by humans that doesn't follow a natural feature.
Geometric Boundary: A straight line or arc drawn by people that does not relate to the physical or cultural landscape.
