Definition

An authoritarian regime is a form of government characterized by strong central power and limited political freedoms. It often involves an autocratic leader with absolute authority over the state.

Analogy

Imagine living in a school where there is no student council, no class elections, and all decisions are made by the principal alone. The principal controls everything and there are strict rules that limit your freedom as a student.
