The Senate Majority Leader is the chief spokesperson for their respective party in the Senate, and they manage and schedule legislative and executive business of the Senate.
Consider them like a team captain in sports. They don't own the team (the Senators), but they help guide it towards its goals by setting strategies (legislative agenda) and coordinating plays (votes).
Legislation: Laws or set of laws suggested by a government legislator.
Executive Business: Matters relating to confirmation proceedings on nominations submitted by the president.
Minority Leader: The head of the minority party in a legislative body, especially the US Senate or House of Representatives.
